Methodology
Every figure about a real bank on this site comes from a public source that I read and saved: the bank's own pages (quoted exactly, with the date), the FCA and PRA (notices and complaints data), the SEC, prospectuses and merger proxies (fees named by deal), and the league tables as LSEG, Dealogic and Mergermarket print them. Nothing is estimated, averaged or inferred about a named bank. Where a bank publishes nothing, the table says 'Not published'. That is scored. Blank cells are blank in the source. I have not been creative.
Scores are a weighting of four things: what the bank publishes, what it costs where that is knowable, its complaints record and its conduct record. The weights are 40, 20, 20, 20 and will change when the per-deal fees arrive. The Secret Banker's view on each bank page is opinion and says so.
The Panel's terms are as discussed with me. They sit in their own tables, with their own numbers on the Sources page.
Corrections: a credible one about a real bank gets a sourced fix within a week. Use the contact page. Figures are taken in good faith from public sources. Warranty extends as far as the good faith, and no further. Counsel has read this page and asks that it be noted that counsel has read this page.
